Environment
Granitleden contributes with its own initiatives to minimise environmental impact and contributes to making West Sweden a role model.
Sustainability life
Granitleden endeavours to have as little environmental impact as possible and supports ''Hållbarhetsklivet'' which is West Sweden's collective initiative for a sustainable tourism industry.
Environmental impact
- Tourism always has an impact on the environment. Transport to and from the destination and activities and consumption on site lead to CO2 emissions. In addition, visits can have an impact on nature.
- The extent of the tourism industry's environmental impact is determined by the choices we make in terms of transport, consumption and other behaviour on site. We can influence this and avoid unnecessary environmental impact.
- By taking care of our nature, we ensure that visitors can continue to enjoy an attractive Bohuslän in the future.
- To reduce emissions, Granitleden encourages visitors to carpool, for example by using local bus companies, and to stay at the site and its surroundings for a longer period of time.
- On Granitleden's website, the visitor can find all the destinations together, which can influence and facilitate the guest's decision to stay longer. This in turn results in less transport per guest night and requires less cleaning, washing, etc.
- More visitors when and where it is not full is one of Granitleden's most important characteristics. Most of the destinations listed on the website are very suitable for visits outside the high season.Through development and marketing efforts, Granitleden works to spread visits throughout the year and thus counteracts the risk of over-tourism.
- Granitleden benefits both the local population and visitors as the website presents exclusively local sights and activities. This means that revenue is generated locally. Visitors who plan a stay in Bohuslän through the Granitleden trail mostly eat and stay active with local entrepreneurs.
- In the marketing of the Granitleden, we target visitors with the potential to spend money locally and thus the Granitleden stimulates local jobs.
- Granitleden stimulates and facilitates cooperation opportunities between, for example, professional guides, conference facilities and local summer restaurants, campsites and cultural centres.
